Every episode of Afterlife: 1. Gervais watches videos of his dead wife, resolves to kill himself. 2. He encounters someone with an irritating habit (munching, slurping, etc.), calls them a c***. 3. He encounters someone with a stupid opinion, recycles his stand-up material on science, religion, etc. 4. He talks to a woman on a bench, realises life is worth living. 5. He talks to a nurse, realises life is worth living. 6. He talks to a prostitute, realises life is worth living. 7. Episode ends with a montage and uplifting track from the 80s.

Realistically, if he killed BOTH Kurt Cobain & "El Duce", he wouldn't/couldn't be taunting the people/authorities about BOTH "murders". "Yes" I do believe at some point, Courtney Love seriously flirted with the idea of having Kurt Cobain murdered, but once the magnitude & seriousness of the task became apparent & CRUCIALLY, without getting caught, the idea fizzled out. Bearing the above in mind, I believe that Alan Wrench is a twisted agitator, clearly a character that naturally revels in controversy, knowing that (1) saying these things will get him attention because (2) naturally, people are very quick to buy into the sensational THEORY that one of the biggest rock stars EVER was murdered by his wife, when REALISTICALLY all those that were close to Kurt Cobain & during the final days of his life will/can verify that in actual FACT, he was a deeply troubled & unhappy person battling many serious issues. One of which being a serious heroin addiction, made even worse by his newly found wealth via the GLOBAL mainstream "success" of Nirvana, which is well known & documented that (& in actual FACT) he was VERY uncomfortable with.

This is the reality of it all for these guys who loved Richey and felt helpless to help him but even now, decades later can't escape that feeling. I like the setup for After Life but every episode is structured around Ricky winning arguments. Each episode ends with him finding closure but then the next one starts with him being miserable again. The moment I gave up on it was when he threw the whatever it was at the car smashing the window and… the driver does nothing. It’s just not believable at all.

El Duce and him said this because they are shock rock trolls. People close to Kurt Cobain killed Kurt Cobain.
